Uihlein Hall Marcus Center For The Performing Arts Tickets and Seating
The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts is the leading performing arts in the Milwaukee area. Located at 929 North Water Street, the center is the home for residential companies like the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Balet, Florentine Opera, and First Stage Children’s Theater. It has also been the favorite stop for touring Broadway productions since Broadway Across America in recent years, playing at Uihlein Hall.
The building was designed by Harry Weese in the Brutalist style, a style noted for repetitive angular geometries mainly constructed of concrete. The Marcus Center opened on July 26, 1969 after a little more than three years of construction. The center has four major theater venues and four additional structures.
Uihlein Hall is the primary theater and was designed for operas and musicals. It has a capacity of 2,305 and is the largest theater in the complex. It was renovated in 1997 to accommodate larger Broadway productions as they came through the region.
